Custom Trailers: What You Can Customize and How to Order One

Custom Trailers: What You Can Customize and How to Order One

risenmega |

Every job, vehicle and market is different, so a standard trailer is not always the right trailer. RISENMEGA builds custom trailers to your size, load and configuration: flatbed, box, cage, excavator, tipping and boat trailers. This guide shows what you can customize and how to send us a sketch that gets you an accurate quote.

Quick answer

  • What can be customized: deck size, load rating, axles, ramps and gates, sides, running gear, coupler and jack, lighting and plugs, accessories, finish and packing.
  • How to order: tell us what you carry, draw a simple dimensioned sketch, confirm your market's requirements, then review our drawing and quote.
  • Starting points: a UTV flatbed at 3100 × 1600 mm and 1000 kg, and an ATV flatbed at 2300 × 1350 mm and 500 kg. Both can be resized.

The RISENMEGA custom trailer series

Our catalog is built around trailers that are made to order. These are the families you can start from.

Flatbed and utility trailers

Single-axle and tandem-axle flatbeds with checker-plate decks, side rails and rear ramp gates for ATVs, UTVs, mowers and general cargo.

Box and cage trailers

Galvanized box trailers with or without ramp, mesh ramp, full mesh sides, folding cage and tool box versions, in single or tandem axle.

Excavator and plant trailers

Tandem-axle trailers with upright loading ramps for mini excavators and compact machinery, sized around your machine.

Hydraulic tipping trailers

A tandem-axle cage trailer with a hydraulic tipping body for unloading bulk material.

Boat and jet ski trailers

Roller, slide-bar and treated-wood bunk layouts, from compact single-axle models to long triple-axle builds, plus jet ski trailers.

Special-purpose builds

Examples in our catalog include a fire tank trailer and a tool box trailer. Ask us if you have a niche use.

Browse ready-made models first: utility and flatbed trailers and equipment trailers. Then use this guide to change what you need.

What you can customize

Ten areas, from the big choices to the small ones that decide whether the trailer fits your job and your country.

How to customize your trailer in 5 steps

1

Define the job

List what you will carry: vehicle or machine model, its weight, width and length, and how often you will load it. Tracked machines need a different ramp from wheeled ones.

2

Pick a base model

Choose the closest family above. Starting from a standard layout keeps the design simple and the quote fast.

3

Draw your sketch

Use the template below. Even a hand drawing with dimensions is enough. Photos of a trailer you like are also helpful.

4

Confirm your market

Tell us the destination country or state so we can match the coupler, lighting, plugs and any brake or registration needs.

5

Review the drawing and quote

We reply with specifications and options. Check every dimension against your cargo, then approve to start production.

How to draw a custom trailer sketch

You do not need CAD. Draw a top view and a side view, then label the letters below. This is a sample flatbed top view.

ABCDEF
  • A Internal deck length (mm)
  • B Internal deck width (mm)
  • C Overall length including tongue (mm)
  • D Tongue and coupler type
  • E Ramp or gate position, width and length
  • F Side height and side type: rail, box, cage or mesh

Also mark: axle count, wheel position, jack position, light position and any accessory such as a tool box, winch or spare wheel. Add the load you need in kg.

Copy this brief into your inquiry

Machine or cargo: ______   Weight (kg): ______   Width × length (mm): ______
Deck size A × B: ______   Load needed (kg): ______   Axles: single / tandem / triple
Ramp or gate: ______   Sides: rail / box / cage / mesh   Brakes: yes / no / ask
Destination: ______   Coupler and plug type: ______   Quantity: ______

Sizing tips before you send your sketch

  • Add working room: leave space around the cargo for tie-downs and for loading the widest part safely.
  • Check the ramp: tracked machines, low-clearance vehicles and heavy loads need the right ramp width and angle.
  • Match your tow vehicle: confirm its towing capacity and hitch type before you choose the trailer load.
  • Check local rules: width, lighting, brake and registration requirements vary by country and state.
  • Think about storage: a long tongue or tall sides may not fit your garage or yard.
